1st Gumpert Apollo in U.S.A.

Speed and Motion can always be counted on to bring us great stuff, but we think they just outdid themselves.

Introducing the 1st Gumpert Apollo in the USA! . In case you're not familiar with the car, it's a mid-engined street-legal race car. It weighs just 2645lbs and its 4.2 liter bi-turbo V8 is sourced from Audi. It churns out 700hp, 626 lb-ft and will do 0-62mph in 3 seconds!

Its estimated top speed is 224 mph, which is 360 kph and which explains why the speedo in the car goes all the way to 400. Insane.

Get a look inside the car's cockpit that's a mix of red and black leather and brushed aluminum (with some very Audi air vents!), and then take a ride through some of SoCal's streets in a car that costs so much that if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Audi R8 Superbowl Commercial, the best of the evening?

Granted, last night's game was probably one of the most gripping Super Bowls in recent memory, but for too long, what has made this game stand out has been the action between the plays. Audi decided to spice it up with an ad for the one car they have no problem selling, the Audi R8. Beyond that I don't think any of the automotive ads really captured the imagination. What about you?

The Audie R8 TDI concept is to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show but here is a preview. This diesel monster is expected to have around 500 bhp and get around 28MPG on the highway!

Audi CEO Rupert Stadler unveils the new Metro Project Quattro at the 2007 Tokyo Auto show. Designed for large metro areas, this car comes equipped with a 1.4L turbo engine produces 150HP.

This car comes with the "Audi Mobile Device" that acts as a mobile phone, navigation system, and a music/video player. This is actually pretty cool because it can be used both inside and outside of the car. It plugs directly into the car with ease.

A Day with an Audi R8

The more I see this car the deeper in love I fall, I daresay I might even like how it looks more than the Gallardo, maybe it's unabashed "German-ish" side is no longer fighting an Italian side and thats what I like so much.... dunno, I will say that after seeing one in person I'm sold, it's an amazing machine, check out the vid.

Audi factory driver Dindo Capello, a Sebring winner in 2001, 2002 and 2006, comments on the 3.7-mile track situated in Florida and based on a former airfield.

Audi S5 in motion

While somewhat sad the new S5 isn't sporting the RS4 motor, I have to admit Audi got it right with the lines of this car, and I'm sure an "R" isn't too far off in this car's future. I particularly dig the LEDs under the front headlights, we first saw those on the R8, but I think think we can assume this will new design accent will be to Audi what "angel eyes" are to BMW. Anyhow I added this to our direct download folder, so if you would like a higher quality version, feel free to get it off iTunes. KTM X-Bow in motion

cool! Cool! COOL CAR! Love this thing, but then I absolutely love this new category of lightweight hyper-sports like the Elise/Exige, Atom, Caparo and now the X-Bow. In many ways I think these all pay homage to the famed Lotus 7, but as a modern rethink of a classic, each is different.. From an F1 car for the street with the Caparo to a Motorcycle with 4 wheels on the KTM. Another great upload by Slick, check it out.

300hp in a 1500 pound car!

Spend ten minutes around me and you'll know one of my favorite cars ever made is the Lotus Exige. Spend twenty minutes and I'll bend your ear about the Ariel Atom, but what comes after that? Somewhere between the silly minimalism of the Ariel (we don't need no sticking roof) and the silly minimalism of the Lotus (we don't need no stinking doors, oh wait we do) comes the new KTM X-Bow.

Left Lane has a whole crop of pictures of this "car"... really more like a 4-wheel motorcycle, but then that's what KTM is known for, right?

Audi R8 finally in the States!

Audi has confirmed production of the R8 super-coupe, which will go on sale in spring 2007. We brought you photos last year of a test 'mule' running under an A6 bodyshell, and then the "real thing" out on the world's most challenging race-track: the Nurburgring in Germany. And now, we've finally caught the R8 doing final testing here in the States.

The R8 is derived from the Le Mans Quattro concept car first seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003; it takes the name of Audi's Le Mans car to emphasis its performance potential. Though some of the technologies used in the car, such as the FSI direct fuel injection system, were developed in the R8 racer, the production R8 is more closely related to the road-going Lamborghini Gallardo.

It shares a version of the Gallardo's structural underpinnings and will come with a detuned version of the Gallardo's 5.0-litre V10, giving 450bhp, as well as the 420bhp V8 found in the RS4. This is a measure to ensure that sales of the more expensive Gallardo will not be affected. Audi hasn't announced pricing for the R8 as yet, but it will undercut the Gallardo by some margin. A starting point of around EUR 95,000 ($115,000) has been rumored, putting it up against the Porsche 911 and Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

Audi Elise....er...I mean...KTM Roadster

Found on the web not sure of the validity But CarType is reporting that Audi is going to build the KTM roadster as an Elise Competitor. Now honesly I think this is a bit optimistic on their part. sure Audi builds a great car, but the soul of an Elise is Chapman's maniacal pursuit of light weight....or in the words of Saint Jeremy Clarkson "What can the customer do without?"....The core of an Audi is "how many tons of awesome interior design can we add to this car?"
